Boys by Bolivar

Dale Bolivar is an artist and a photographer combined. In his series' of boys in collage, he explores a method of photography-mixed-with-graphic-design that has earned him international recognition. "All my work has a very dreamy, quiet seriousness to it," says Dale, specifically about his most recent series, called "Gravity" (see the picture of the guy who looks as though the world is sorta spinning around him). "I want my work to be more than just a picture of an attractive man. A lot of times you see photographers who take pictures in this genre and it looks totally generic, like it could be done by any photographer. I want people to look at my stuff and say, yah.. that's Dale."

He's gotten lots of response from his work, including press across the world, and gallery exhibitions of his photographs. Unlike many photographers, Dale Bolivar hopes that his photos have deeper meaning. But he leaves that meaning up to you. "Gravity," he says, "is a metaphor for non-straight sexuality. When you're floating through space, you're freed from the chains that bind you. We're held down by the structures of society.. but when you break away from them, you're much freer."
